Yesterday my computer just randomly stopped recognizing the slave hard drive I have. What should I do?
It is a Maxtor 100GB 3.5 "hard drive. I'm thinking of simply pulling out and put in a difficult case of an external drive, but the problem I'm having a result of the hard disk or PC? I plan on running a scan my computer for viruses and if tonight does not fix anything and then open my computer and see what I can do. Any other solutions I could try it without opening the computer? Every time I restart my computer tells me I can not find a second hard drive. It would be a virus is the cause of not being recognized at boot time or only on Windows same? I tried scanning with AVG, Spybot, some windows Checker, and I think that ClamWin. Does anyone have other suggestions for a good circulation of viruses / adware / spyware / other scanner? Or is there a program that does all these things at once? I can find a group of security programs on www.100-downloads.com but are separated, and just want to do a task.
